The Berry Best Smoothie Bowl Recipe

There really isn’t anything better to wake up to then a nice refreshing breakfast and a berry bowl is just that. Filled with mixed summer berries, creamy natural yoghurt and a little bit of peanut butter – here you have a recipe fit for success in all the right ways.

You can really get creative with your bowls and adapt to fit what you like. Personally, I like to add banana as a topping rather than adding it to the smoothie mix. Bananas tend to totally dominate anything they are blended into so although I really love them, I want the crispness of the berries to pull through and add sweetness.

Peanut butter is a bit of a weakness of mine, but I think it kind of grounds the mixture into one. It not only adds a little bit of crunch deep down (that is if you are using a crunchy butter instead of smooth) but also a nutty flavouring in the underbelly which is really pleasant to taste.

I also choose to top it with a plain granola, chia seeds to promote fullness and again give it a bit more texture and drizzle honey on top for an added sweetness, but you can add whatever you want. Go crazy, throw on some frozen berries, goji berries, the world really is your oyster when it comes to smoothie bowls which means you never get tired of them.

Ingredients to blend:

  • 3tbsp Plain Natural Yoghurt
  • 1tbsp Peanut Butter
  • Handful of frozen summer berries
  • 20ml oat Milk
  • 1 tbsp Honey

For the toppings

  • 1 sliced banana
  • Sprinkle of Plain Granola
  • Half a tsp of Chai Seeds
  • Drizzle of Honey

Method:

  • Place all your blended ingredients in a strong blender and mix until smooth and there are no whole berries.
  • Place in a bowl and scatter toppings on top or arrange them to look pretty – it depends how hungry you really are!

It really is easy, quick and will revolutionise breakfast times to encompass the best. Happy smoothie bowling!
